Dr. Nilesh Mhatre is a unique individual who masterfully balances a technical career with a profound, non-commercial dedication to classical music, using it as a vehicle to impart life's precious values.
His classical journey began at the age of five in 1986 under his grandfather, Shri Bhaskarbuwa (Govind Kaka) Mhatre, a celebrated Bhajan Samrat in Maharashtra. He dedicated almost thirteen years to learning Hindustani Vocal Classical Music under Pt. Ramesh JI Dhanawade, following the rigorous Gurukul Gandabandh Paddhati. He has lent his melodious voice to numerous music albums, including "Vaikunthicha Dev" and "Narayani Namostute," collaborating with some of the biggest music production companies in India.
In 2023, his dedication and expertise were formally recognized when he received a Doctorate Degree in Music. Dr. Nilesh is a qualified professional, having completed his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Mumbai University in 2003. He successfully pursued a professional career with a leading Multinational Company in Mumbai. Importantly, music remains his passion and hobby, not his primary source of income, which reinforces his non-commercial approach toward the art form.
He is the Founding Chairman of Naadbramha Music Academy, a prominent music academy in India that actively preserves and promotes classical music by teaching thousands of students Hindustani Vocal Classical and Instrumental Music. This includes offering kathak classes in Pune, singing classes in Pune, and tabla classes in Pune. Dr. Nilesh's success is rooted in his belief that "Music is a Sadhana and Blessings of Guru," a principle he continuously demonstrates through his musical journey.
Dr. Nilesh Mhatre serves as an inspiring example of how one can achieve excellence in both professional and artistic fields while holding true to traditional values and a spirit of service.
